Subject:           Scholarship award for students interested in furthering their education in the legal secretarial/legal assistant field.

 

Sponsor:           Legal Personnel of South Central Wisconsin (LPSCW)

 

Award: A $500 scholarship will be offered for the 2008-2009 school year; payment to be made to the school of the winner’s choice upon certification of enrollment and attendance.

 

Requirements:   Applicants must be students with a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average who are attending or plan to attend a school which offers a one or two year legal secretarial/legal assistant program.  Award will be made on the basis of academic record, financial need, and interest in the legal secretarial/legal assistant field.

 

Applying:          Interested students should complete an application form and submit it by March 2009 to the address at the top of this form.  Additional information is available from Kim Starr at the phone numbers listed at the top of this form.

 

Deadline:          All applications must be returned to the above address by March 2009.

 

Bonus:  The winner of the LPSCW scholarship may be eligible to compete in an additional scholarship contest sponsored by the Wisconsin Association for Legal Professionals (WALP).

SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

 

2007-2008 Recipient

Stefanie Whittaker was a graduate of Wisconsin Heights High School and will be graduating from MATC's paralegal program in May 2008.  Her GPA is currently 3.75. Prior to MATC, Stefanie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies and Sociology from the UW Madison.

 

2006-2007 Recipient

Becky Gruber attended Pewaukee High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Legal Studies from the UW-Madison in 2003. Becky then moved onto MATC where she graduated from their paralegal program with a 4.0 grade point.
