Scholarship award for students interested in

furthering their education in the legal

secretarial/legal assistant field.

 

Sponsor:

Legal Personnel of South Central Wisconsin (LPSCW)

 

Award: 

A $500 scholarship will be offered for the 2011-2012 school year; payment to be made to the school of the recipient's choice upon certification of enrollment and attendance. 

 

Applying: 

Interested students should complete an application form and submit it by TBA, 2011 to the address at the top

 

Requirements: 

Applicants must be students with a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average who are attending or plan to attend a school which offers a one or two year legal secretarial/legal assistant program.  Award will be made on the basis of academic record, financial need, and interest in the legal secretarial/legal assistant field.

 

Deadline:  

All applications must be returned to the above address by TBA, 2011.

 

Additional information: 

The winner of the LPSCW scholarship may be eligible to compete in an additional scholarship contest sponsored by the Wisconsin Association for Legal Professionals (WALP).

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

 

2008-2009

Valerie Hollnagel ($250)

Valerie obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance from UW - Madison and then in December of 2008 obtained a post-baccalaureate paralegal certificate from MATC, achieving a 4.0 grade point average. She plans to take additional paralegal classes in other law specialty areas using her LPSCW scholarship.

 

Lori Graf ($250)

Lori was a graduate of Madison West High School in 2003 and will be graduating from MATC's paralegal program in May 2009. Her GPA is currently 4.0. In 2007, Lori earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies from UW-Madison.

 

 

2007-2008

Stefanie Whittaker was a graduate of Wisconsin Heights High School and will be graduating from MATC's paralegal program in May 2008.  Her GPA is currently 3.75. Prior to MATC, Stefanie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies and Sociology from the UW Madison.
